STOP… just STOP

As important as it is to choose to KEEP going with the things that are working – you have to wipe the board clean of things that aren’t!

This week let’s make a list of all the things we are going to STOP DOING!

Doesn’t it sound like fun? Ok maybe it’s just me but being able to cross things off my to-do list PERMANENTLY makes me a little giddy.

I imagine the time I will free up for myself.

  • Give me more time for the things I chose to KEEP doing last week – and do them more often.
  • Allow me to learn something new!
  • Listen more effectively to mentors, prospects, customers, colleagues.
  • To leave work on time… or even early.

Today, focus on an often overlooked, while critical aspect of success: knowing when to let go.

4 Steps to Identify What to Stop Doing

  1. Review Your List: Look at your daily tasks and ask yourself, “Does this contribute to my sales goals?”
  2. Seek Feedback: Sometimes, it’s hard to see the forest for the trees. Ask colleagues or mentors for their perspectives on your to-do list.
  3. Assess Outcomes: If a task hasn’t yielded positive results in 2023 (especially if it “used to” but hasn’t recently) – more importantly, can you describe your success as consistent? It might be time to let it go.
  4. Consider Your Energy Levels: Tasks that drain your energy without significant returns are prime candidates for elimination.

Now Take Action:

Identify at least three tasks this week that you can stop doing. Gradually phase out these tasks and monitor the impact on your productivity and work satisfaction.

At the end of the week, assess the changes. As always, tweak your approach as needed. Then remove three more tasks!

By consciously choosing to stop certain tasks, you’re not just crossing things off a list; you’re paving the way for a more focused and productive sales activity.

Embrace this week as an opportunity to declutter your professional routine and make room for new growth and success.

Still decluttering my routine,
Lynn
