only do it, if it adds up

Inside sales is a profession full of measurements, metrics, statistics, numbers…

The thing is, in isolation they are a pile of materials that COULD become something, but don’t necessarily.

1. you have to know what you want to build: how you measure progress when you build a race car is significantly different from construction of a skyscraper.
2. there have to be blueprints: knowing what it will look like in concept, takes a leap forward when you actually draw it out.
3. translate the blueprints into your materials list.
4. make sure you have the right people to help you build it.
5. keep track of progress against the plan.
6. know that every thing in life includes scope creep, be prepared for changes along the way.

Take the measurements, metrics, statistics, numbers and make sure you measure yourself against the goal you’re working toward.

If one number doesn’t help – ignore it for now.

If you need something that isn’t reported on – find out how to get it.

Only do the things that add up to your goal.
