Ok – I just moved my PILES of unread books to a new book shelf, my plan is that it will be revolving and not have the same 37 books on it forever.
Which means I need to start somewhere… that is tough they are all books I intend to read or I wouldn’t have bought them.
I also know myself well enough to understand I need to make it easy to get started, then my momentum will push (or pull) me along.
Which is why I picked up Daniel Coyle’s The Little Book of Talent.
The subtitle is “52 tips for improving your skills”
I like the idea of having a tip each week that I can work on. So I’ve set myself a morning reminder every Thursday to read one chapter.
Of course I’ve only read the introduction but have to say that I’m excited enough about this endeavor that I can already tell I will have to STOP myself from reading ahead before taking the week to implement the chapter.
Small actions, repeated over time, transform us. pg xviii
