5 Ideas for when you have… no ideas

Sometimes we are so crazed with things that are coming at us we have no time to even think… let alone come up with ideas of how to help our team.

Here are 5 Ideas for when you have… no ideas:

1. turn over your team meeting to a salesperson and have them come up with the ideas. actually this is a great way to get different points of view! I’d suggest you do round robin on your team and see what they come up with!

2. look at what you’ve done before. recycling is great – plus you have the opportunity to pick and choose the BEST ideas you’ve had from the past.

3. do a google search. no I’m not kidding, when I can’t think of a good idea – I’ll google search my question and read the top 3 articles/answers that come up, taking the best and putting my own twist on it to fit the organization I’m working on.

4. have your top 3 book resources on your desk – open it up and read a chapter (or even a couple pages).

Right now I have five books on my desk, plus a lot of others “around”
* Switch, by Chip & Dan Heath
* How to Place Successful Sales and Prospecting Calls, by Art Sobczak
* Now, Discover Your Strengths, by Marcus Buckingham & Donald Clifton
* SNAP Selling, by Jill Konrath
* Uncommon Sense, by Jill Harrington

5. take a deep breath and take a 5-minute walk. I do believe that when we move our bodies we can change our minds. It’s important to keep breathing while you walk and not be caught up in what ever it was that made you need to walk away in the first place.
