Schedule Linkedin Time

calendarIt is time to make sure you’re thinking of time on LinkedIn as both an exclusive & inclusive block!

Exclusive – LinkedIn is an important part of your prospecting activity, make sure that you are blocking out distractions during your scheduled time. Only you can ensure the time you’ve blocked out is actually spent on LinkedIn AND with activities that will help you be seen as a resource to your prospects and customers.

Inclusive – give yourself a limit! It is easy to become lost in reading people’s updates – clicking through to blog posts and articles they shared – reading discussion topics that you find interesting in all the groups you belong to – etc. Make sure you decide how much time at any given moment you’ll spend; then hold yourself accountable for stopping when you’ve hit the limit.

Huge thanks & kudos to Bill Stinnett for introducing me to the idea of ‘inclusive time’ a few years ago!

The key is to make a commitment to yourself and your own success. You can’t just schedule LinkedIn time, you have to use that time to move yourself forward: update your own profile, post an update your prospects and customers will value, add new business connections, bring a new perspective to a group discussion.
