Courage isn’t the absence of fear

Being afraid doesn’t make you weak. It makes you human. What matters is what you do next.

My dad taught me that courage isn’t about being fearless. It’s about facing fear and choosing to move anyway.

That lesson stuck with me.
It shaped how I show up in sales, in life, in everything.

Here’s what I’ve learned about fear:

  • Some fear is legit.
  • Some just need a closer look.
  • Some become a habit.
  • Some get blown way out of proportion.

And a lot of it? We borrow from other people’s stories.

If we let fear run the show, we freeze… or fight… or run. And any of those? They make us miss the call, the opportunity, the moment.

Courage in action is built over time: One conversation. One decision. One moment at a time.

Inside sales takes courage:

  • Picking up the phone after rejection.
  • Challenging a client’s assumptions.
  • Taking the shot when the outcome’s uncertain.

So here’s your reminder: courage doesn’t mean charging in without fear. It means purposely moving forward while afraid. And if you’re in sales, that’s a skill you already have.

If no one’s told you lately: I trust your judgment. You’ve made it this far because you do know how to take the next step.

You’ve got this.
And if you don’t feel like you do right now? That’s okay.
Fear shows up. Let it.
Then take a breath and move forward with courage.

Forward is where the good stuff happens,
Lynn
