Sometimes we need to sharpen our skills to get better, at others it is all about finding an accountability partner to keep you on track, or maybe you need a shot of enthusiasm…
No matter what you need, the best (or maybe worst) thing about sales success is YOU are the only person who knows what you need!
Take a quick look in the sales mirror and figure out what is stopping you from reaching the level of success you want.
Is it that you:
- Can’t
- Won’t
- Don’t Know How
Can’t
is an indicator that you are being STOPPED by something and you’re unable to get past it. It might be inside of you…. or part of the organization (real or imagined) that is holding you back.
- If it is something inside you – you are definitely the only person who can change it.
- If it in the organization – time to talk with your boss.
You might have to get over it… there you are again being the only person who can change the situation – perhaps there is a misunderstanding you can resolve.
Won’t
typically means we know what we need to do, we know how…. we just AREN’T doing it.
- That might seem like it is right back in your lap, ok it is BUT…
- pick an accountability partner to help ensure you’re doing what you need to do.
- find a coach to ask questions to determine why you’re not doing ‘it’.
Don’t Know How
is perhaps the easiest fix – this is all about learning those missing skills, techniques, etc.
- Read a book.
- Take a class.
- Find an online resource.
The key is to figure out which one it is and tackle it straight on! Do whatever you need to in order to move one step forward. Good Luck!
