I ride the lifts at Whiteface Mountain a LOT… in the winter. A few weeks ago was the first time I’d ridden the gondola in the fall.
What I wasn’t prepared for was snow at the top… even though I know it’s colder at the top than the base, regardless of reading the 23 degree (Fahrenheit) temperature on the chalk board while picking up a ticket for my friend who was visiting. It was early October for goodness sake.
How often in sales leadership are there preludes to change that are ignored?
- autumn is the season change that is a prelude to winter
- going up in elevation, is a prelude to lower temperatures
- temperatures below freezing, can be the prelude to snow (regardless of the date)
Think about what you are seeing today and as you move though this week – as a prelude to change in your organization – industry – with the economy: then figure out your best next step to take!
I know how glad I was to have gloves, a scarf, and hat when I got to the summit.
