At times I find myself sitting staring at the computer… out my window… waiting. For what? Well it depends on the day (perhaps the moment):
- for my mindset to change
- for a prospect or customer to make a decision
- for a contract
- for information
- for things to be perfect
What do you find yourself sitting and waiting for?
Waiting is passive – waiting isn’t productive… waiting isn’t moving you forward.
In the moment, sometimes I forget that I can move and work on something COMPLETELY UNRELATED to what I’m waiting for.
In fact, technically – I’m still waiting for ____________. I’ve just moved on mentally to work on something completely unrelated.
How about you… what would it take for you to move on mentally?
Here are three reminders to myself:
- if I’m frustrated – vent to someone and have them hold me accountable for the OTHER thing I commit to doing to create forward momentum.
- if I’m stuck – get up and physically move, stretch, take the dog for walk. Get physically moving to get my brain unstuck.
- if I’m worried – take a deep breath, and make 5 “easy” sales calls (what “easy” looks like is very subjective)
I hope this helps you STOP waiting and START moving yourself forward.
