paying attention takes mental effort – mental effort takes willpower – willpower requires stamina
- Mental Effort: it takes EFFORT to pay attention. Granted if you’re interested it doesn’t always feel like effort. There are things that captivate your attention and those that bore you.
Being bored = the time your mental effort is even more important and add to that… - Willpower: it could have been in a meeting, it could have been with a family member, or it could have been with a prospect or customer – this week you’ve already had to MAKE yourself pay attention.
Using your force of will to listen. - Stamina: Merriam-Webster’s first definition of stamina = the bodily or mental capacity to sustain a prolonged stressful effort or activity : ENDURANCE
That doesn’t “just happen” it takes training! You have to train yourself to avoid distractions, train yourself to listen, train yourself to pay attention.
Looking at it – that is MY list. What’s missing that you need added to ensure you’re paying attention to the details at the beginning middle… and end?
