For several years, I’ve been privileged to end my work days sharing a good thing that happened that day.
from April 22, 2019 remind yourself of the good stuff – out loud! at the end of each work day I talk with my friend (and good things accountability partner) Mike – we each have to come up with ONE good thing that happened that day. Some days it feels effortless – before lunch I have something to share… other days it’s tough and while we are talking I have to sort through my shit show of a day to find ONE good thing that Mike agrees qualifies.
Which may be why I love the idea that “good things come to those who work hard and never give up.”
The habit of looking for good things helps me:
- looking back on my day and finding one good thing about my customer interactions, training classes, career means I leave feeling… well good.
- good things make me want to come back and work hard tomorrow.
- having to find one thing – no matter how small, reminds me that never giving up is one of the keys to success… even when it’s never giving up on finding a good thing!
- relaize no matter what today felt like, I’m good at what I do.
