Release Stress or it will BOIL over!

It has been a long year for a lot of people – stress levels are HIGH. Here is the one thing I know, if you keep trying to hold your stress in – it will BOIL over:
* when you least expect it
* at the most inopportune time(s)

Like hot chocolate heated up for too long in the microwave – stress becomes a hot sticky mess to be cleaned up.

Letting it boil over means:

  1. you don’t get any comfort from the experience.
  2. cleaning up makes the task 3x as long to complete as if you’d not boiled over.
  3. many times you have to apologize.
  4. it’s a circular problem – boiling over creates even MORE stress.

I’m not going to get all Zen on you, although Taijiquan does help me release stress. One of my girlfriends boxes because hitting things helps. Other people I know make sure to go for an afternoon walk every day.

It doesn’t matter what you do to release your stress valve. It matters that you use what works regularly… and this year, maybe more than others – frequently!
