ok so I’ve now received my 5th email saying “credit expires at midnight” and I’m guessing it’s not going to be the last.
Why am I telling you? Because there is a sales lesson on TRUST in there.
Here is what I’m thinking as your prospect: If your not telling me the truth about my credit expiring at midnight – what else are you lying about?
REALLY that’s what I’m thinking.
No I don’t care if it’s your marketing department sending me the email. No I don’t care that it may be auto generated.
What I do know is I don’t trust you right now.
This really happened to me, with a company I have done business with in the past. The credit is because I referred someone to them.
Now I’m not so sure about giving that referral, not so sure I even want to use the credit. Not sure at all I want to work with them again.
I’m super annoyed that I have to keep deleting the email because no mater when it expires I don’t need to buy anything right now.
If I get a 6th one tomorrow – I’ll probably unsubscribe.
