Zone of Genius (inspired by Shawn Karol Sandy @ShawnSandy1)

I LOVE hanging out with smart people – they say things that make me think. Make an impact. Make me better.

Shawn Karol Sandy is one of those people.

I’ve had a note to myself since I heard her say “zone of genius” (ok perhaps it was actually the 5th or 6th time she said it within my hearing). She was talking about her own genius zone – yet pointed out that we ALL have them.

That is when I started thinking… her idea reinforced my belief that success is NOT a matter of working on our weaknesses -> it’s about turning our talents into strengths, using our strengths creatively, building on our own AWESOMENESS.

Which means it’s time to do an UpYourTeleSales exercise again!

Step 1 call all of your customers and ask “why do you buy from me?” write down EVERYTHING they say, especially the parts that you think are insignificant.

(don’t have customers yet? call your friends and ask “what do you rely on me for?” same rules!)

Step 2 look at your list, pull the like things together into categories. THOSE are very likely your Zone of Genius.

Step 3 begin to look for every single opportunity you can find to USE your personal genius.

Rinse & Repeat – always & often.
