Invent Tomorrow – #InsideSales #LYNNSIGHT

I’m still trying to figure out how to be like Steve Jobs and “go invent tomorrow rather than worrying about what happened yesterday.”

How about you?

My strategy involves setting 3 micro goals for every day.

  1. is 100% in my control; an activity target that regardless of other people I can achieve.
  2. shows an indication that I’m doing a good job; qualitative in theme yet still measurable.
  3. measures a realistic daily result; that proves (to myself) I’m moving toward my BIG or LONG-TERM goals.

When I’m feeling saucy – I’ll add in ONE thing that I really don’t want to do that I know will make me a more successful inside salesperson.

Here is an example from last week:

  1. 40 dials with at least 1/2 to people I’ve never spoken with before.
    That is 100% within MY control.
  2. ask every person I reach “what is ONE thing you have to accomplish before June is over?”
    Still 100% within my control… and showing myself that I’m in conversations (which is “an exchange of ideas between people” as defined by UpYourTeleSales)
  3. find 3 new business opportunities
    not necessarily within my control, per se, certainly a realistic daily result.
