Remember the smell of freshly sharpened pencils and the terror of realizing your locker combo again? Ah yes—it’s back-to-school season, and while the kids are packing lunches and lamenting early alarms, I’ve got a different idea for you.

What if you took yourself back to sales school this month?

I’m talking about putting your brain back in learning mode!

You’re good. You’ve got muscle memory for handling objections in your sleep. But when’s the last time you listened to something that made you say, “Huh. I never thought of it that way.”

Class is in Session: Pick One

This week, I double dog dare you to pick one:

  • 🎧 Listen to a sales podcast that isn’t hosted by someone who sounds like a tired gym coach
  • 📖 Read a blog post from someone outside your industry (hello, fresh perspective!)
  • 📱 Watch a 3-minute video on TikTok or YouTube from a creator who actually knows their stuff

Then (and here’s where most people flunk out) do something with it.
Try it. Test it. Tweak your opener. Rework your follow-up email. Use it on your next call and see what happens.

Worst case? You wasted 15 minutes.
Best case? You shake the dust off a skill that’s been coasting on autopilot.

Sales school never ends, you you choose to not attend… your quota attainment will probably show it.

So go sharpen your metaphorical pencils.
Class dismissed.
