Let’s Build Serious Mid-Year Momentum

I’ve been thinking a lot about momentum lately; how we find it, how we build it, and most importantly, how we keep it rolling into the second half of the year.

Momentum isn’t magic. It’s built on purpose, one small action at a time. If you’re feeling stuck or even coasting along, now’s the time to put your foot back on the gas.

Here’s how I recommend we (and I’m including myself in this one) get serious about building momentum right now:

🔄 Cultivate a Winning Sales Culture

Momentum doesn’t live in a vacuum; it grows in the culture you’re part of. Whether you’re leading a team or leading yourself, the environment you create matters. A winning sales culture isn’t just about quotas and dashboards; it’s about energy, encouragement, and forward motion.

Here are three ways to build it:

  • Celebrate small wins; Today’s tiny victories fuel tomorrow’s big ones.
  • Encourage collaboration; Share your best practices and your struggles.
  • Keep communication flowing; Make conversations about progress, not just problems.

Remember: culture eats strategy for breakfast and it fuels momentum all day long.

🔓 Unlock Your Sales Potential

I know the truth: most of us are only operating at 70% of what we’re capable of. Unlocking the next 30% starts by being real about what’s holding you back. Momentum comes when you learn from what didn’t work and commit to showing up better tomorrow.

If you want to unlock more of you:

  • Reflect on your last challenge; What lesson are you ignoring because it stings a little?
  • Set short-term, tangible goals; Win today. Stack that win tomorrow.
  • Ask for feedback; Fresh eyes spot opportunities you’re too close to see.

Never Forget: Momentum is a choice. Choose to keep going, even (especially!) when things are tough.

❤️ Be Emotionally Impelled

There’s a big difference between doing something because you have to and doing it because you want to. The real momentum builders? They’re emotionally impelled. They’ve got a fire inside that no quota alone can light.

Here’s how to stay connected to your fire:

  • Write down your ‘why’; Not just once. Revisit it often.
  • Visualize your success; See it. Feel it. Believe it.
  • Anchor to your purpose; Sales isn’t just what you do; it’s who you help.

If your ‘why’ doesn’t make you sit up straighter, it’s time for a new one.
