It’s not often that I take sales advice from a fortune cookie.
Yet “Discipline is the refining fire by which talent becomes ability.” seems so appropriate that I had to use it!
I have been a big believer in Gallup’s CliftonStrengths since the book Now, Discover Your Strengths came out in 2001.
It talks about the fact we all have talents and leveraging them will bring “success through consistent, near-perfect performance.”
My fortune cookie advice describes what we need to actually leverage them.

The discipline of mental focus.
The discipline for consistency.
Refining what we do to leverage our strengths.
Fire and passion to be successful.
