BURSTfocus® is the Next Step

If you’ve been following along this month:

You’ve started consciously choosing what you’re going to spend your time on. Yet every inside sales day seems more about constant interruptions than it is about sticking to the time choices you want to make.

This is where BURSTfocus® methodology shines!

  1. Breathe: Start each BURST with a deep breath to center yourself and clear your mind. This simple reset helps you shift your focus to the task at hand.
  2. Uninterrupted: Commit to working on a single task or related set of tasks without distractions. Silence notifications, close unnecessary tabs, and let others know you’re in a focused sprint.
  3. Resolve: Set a clear goal for your BURST. For example, “I will make 10 quality follow-up calls” or “I’ll finish prepping for tomorrow’s demo.” This gives your sprint purpose and direction.
  4. Sprint: Dive into your task with full energy and intensity, knowing it’s for a set period—typically 25 to 50 minutes. This is about all-out focus, make sure to choose a time period your brain can sustain.
  5. Transition: When the timer is up, step away briefly. Stretch, grab water, or check in on less demanding tasks before starting your next BURST. This creates a natural rhythm and prevents burnout.
  • Start small: pick a 25-minute window, set a clear goal, and see how much you can accomplish.
  • Compare it to your usual work style.

You may find that the energy and focus of BURSTs transform how you approach your tasks.

Productivity isn’t about stuffing your schedule—it’s about working smarter while you’re working hard. By combining subtraction with focused BURSTs, you can create a workflow that’s not only efficient but energizing, too.

Putting down my distractions,
