You’re successful and at the end of most days you feel like you’ve accomplished a lot! Yet there are other days when instead of moving forward, you feel like you’re running as fast as you can and not getting anywhere (I hate those days).
The difference between Busy vs. Productive is your answer to the question: Are you moving closer to your goals?
Here is something that I recently realized -> sometimes I have to search a little for that answer!
- lots of voicemail feels busy… but reframing that a customer focused message, delivered with personality = one step closer to a conversation changes how I feel about it.
- the busyness created by mounds of internal paperwork… becomes making sure clients are taken care of from beginning to end of the engagement/transaction/etc.
I haven’t yet mastered that reframing in the MIDDLE of a busy feeling, that’s still a work in progress. It does help at the end of the day to figure out if I’ve moved… even a little… toward the goals and priorities I’ve set for myself.
