A salesperson said/asked me “Do you still power hour? I don’t. not really. I haven’t found an accountability partner that really sticks with it, and pushes me.”

= a one hour scheduled time for outbound customer contact.

I do still do power hours. I have “played” with multiple people at different times this year.

I’m a huge fan of accountability partnerships. I think it is unreasonable to expect to have ONE person forever so I have several different people I lean on regularly.

Here are my three tips that I gave her, hopefully they’ll be useful for you:

  1. Make a list of people you know are good “temporary accountability partners.”
  2. Have conversations about what they need, what you need, and how you can work together.
  3. Set it up AND have both a reward & consequence pre-negotiated with your accountability partner(s).
