Hope (inspired by Emily Dickinson)

not often do I ponder hope
yet inside my heart it lives
it’s not diminished by lack of thought
a lightness to my days it gives

while I don’t hope consciously
all thoughts do hope contain
adding rhyme and reason
into my worlds refrain
