Monday I wrote to your manager telling them to make sure to speak ONLY with the salespeople who need a reminder about “it” not the whole team.
Where “it” may be:
> updating your forecast
> customer contact time
> not asking hard questions
> etc
Today I’m hear to tell you to STOP rolling your eyes & do “it” for inside sales success.
My observation is the salespeople who are most annoyed by these conversations tend to be the ones that need to hear the message the most. Annoyance about being micromanaged = actually a self-defense mechanism about taking responsibility for their own action (or inaction).
Harsh? maybe
Valid? most likely
NOW if you’re manager is still including you in team chats about things you are doing… suck it up, let it go, remember it’s not about you… listen and move on with your day. It isn’t that your manager doesn’t appreciate you – it’s that they’re not skilled enough – or confident enough to exclude you from the conversation.
