As I write this it’s snowing at my house… I drove the 18 miles to Whiteface Mtn and it was pouring rain at the base (although I could tell it was snowing at the summit).
although I have a ski addiction, I don’t ride in the rain.
I’m sitting here watching the snow pile up on my back deck, what a waste I think… how disappointing…
Some days inside sales is like that;
* 1 person answers after 16 calls and they don’t need what I do.
* finally I reach someone I’ve been making a concerted effort to court, to find they JUST bought what I sell
* then I learn I lost a big opportunity
you know those days.
If we don’t shrug OFF our disappointment, the day will slip by – perhaps a few days – THEN we start to look for things that are disappointing instead of the JOY of what we do;
* 20 strategic voicemail/email contacts = 1 response that interest is peeked.
* I call to apologize for missing a rush shipment order because I was out, to learn they’d built in the 2-days after calling to learn I was off.
* then I learn a project was the first of 4-phases.
Shrug OFF your disappointment and keep looking for the good things.
