This Thanksgiving, Let’s Celebrate Our Teams and Customers

Happy Thanksgiving!

In the daily hustle of inside sales, where metrics rule the day, it’s easy to lose sight of the human element—people are the real heart of what we do, both as team leaders and as salespeople.

Today (ok… every day) I encourage you to pause and think about what you’re grateful for about:

  • team members who work with and for you
  • prospects you connect with
  • customers you serve

Take a few minutes this week—every week—to jot down one thing about each team member that you’re thankful for and then share it with them.

Need some ideas to get started?

Here are a few from people I work with:

  • Their positivity, even when I’d expect them to scream in frustration
  • The way they challenge my assumptions with insightful questions
  • Their sense of humor
  • Knowing when to ask for help—and doing it
  • Willingness to step out of their comfort zone
  • Believing in me when I struggle to believe in myself
  • Recognizing the strength we have as a team, beyond our individual abilities
  • Sharing what works to help build our team’s best practices
  • Keeping me accountable

And what about your prospects and customers? Here’s some inspiration for ways they might be impacting you:

  • Valuing the ideas I bring to the table
  • Showing openness to new perspectives
  • Their commitment to their team
  • A shared sense of humor and sarcasm
  • Making work fun
  • Trusting me and my expertise
  • How much they genuinely care about their own team’s success

For the people I coach and train regularly, a few extras come to mind:

  • Their understanding that growth takes effort
  • Trust in the coaching process
  • Embracing a culture of continuous learning

When things are going well, gratitude can make them even better. When things aren’t going so well? Even a small dose of gratitude can turn your day around.

Take time to thank the people who make you thankful.

I appreciate you being here, learning, and connecting with me!
Lynn
